Who would benefit from Medical Compression?
Compression socks (garments) apply a graduated compression to your leg to manage venous disorders. The highest amount of pressure is in the ankle portion of the garment and pressure gradually decreases as you move up the stocking. This promotes blood flow back towards your heart and assists even damaged valves and veins. These compression levels are quantified as compression “classes” and are measured in mmHG (millimeter of Mercury).
Compression garments are also an effective tool in the treatment of Lymphedema, assisting lymph flow in damaged Lymphatic Systems damaged through cancer treatments, trauma or other causes.
